Are ski passes and equipment included in the price of a group course / private lesson?
No. The price only covers the lesson. However, if clients need equipment, we recommend taking advantage of the 10% discount available to all participants in group or private lessons at our SNOW SHOP rental. When you make payment for your lessons, please ask the office receptionist for the equipment voucher. Ski passes are likewise not included in the price, but can be purchased online or at the ticket offices located at the bottom of the slopes.
Are clients insured during the course?
No. Participants in our private and group lessons are not covered by insurance. However, according to Decree n. 40 of 28 February 2021, every user of the ski area must have civil liability insurance for damages against third parties. Do you refund deposits?
No. All deposits are non-refundable.
What are the refund criteria? (for medical issues: accident / illness)
Partial refunds are available if a medical certificate issued by a South Tyrolean Health Authority (e.g., hospital, San Vigilio tourist clinic, or local Trauma Centre) is presented to the ski school office. SNOWCARE insurance also offers partial reimbursement.
Are lessons held in bad weather?
Yes. All private and group lessons take place in any weather condition. If the ski area is open, scheduled lessons are held regardless the weather and / or temperature.
What type of ski pass is needed for group courses?
We advise all our customers to purchase the Plan de Corones ski pass for the duration of their stay. Ski passes can be purchased online at a discount. It is then possible to print the ski pass card from the machines located at each base station.
Do beginner children need a ski pass on the first day?
No. Children enrolled in our KINDERLAND school camp for beginners do not need a ski pass on the first day because our facility is equipped with 2 treadmills. When children enrolled in KINDERLAND need a ski pass, the instructor will tell parents when and what type of ski pass to buy. Note: Children below the age of 8 can receive a free ski pass upon requested at the time that an adult ski pass is purchased.
Can I book a lesson in advance by email or by telephone and make the payment in your office later?
No. Email and telephone reservation are only confirmed after payment of the deposit has been received according to the date set by office staff. All reservations without deposit are invalid.
How much in advance should I book a private teacher?
During high season, we strongly advise clients to book well in advance, especially if you want to book lessons at a specific time and with a specific instructor. Reservation can be made online at: https://www.skiwork.shop/EN/MAS33DPA
Where can I rent ski equipment?
Our SNOW SHOP, located at Strada Catarina Lanz 14, rents, sells and services ski equipment at discounted prices for all clients that have booked lessons. Unfortunately, we do not offer ski lockers.
Is there a discount if I book online or if I book multiple lessons?
No. There are no discounts for online bookings, and we do not offer lesson packages.
Is it possible to choose my teacher?
Yes, sometimes. It is possible to choose the instructor for a private lesson, but this also depends on a teacher’s schedule and availability. Unfortunately, it IS NOT possible to choose which instructor teaches a group lesson.
Are lessons refunded because of bad weather?
No. Lessons are ONLY reimbursed if the ski area is completely closed and there is no possibility of recovering the lesson at a later time or day. Refunds are not given because of rain, snow, or temperature extremes.
Where is the meeting point for my lessons?
The meeting point is usually at the base of the Pedagà or Miara slope. The lesson voucher issued at the office specifies your exact meeting point. For logistical reasons, it is not possible to meet teachers at the top of Plan de Corones.
When should I arrive at the meeting point?
Please arrive at your designated meeting point at least 5 to 10 minutes before your lesson’s scheduled starting time.
What should I do if I arrive late for class?
In case of delay, please contact us immediately by phone or visit one of our offices.
If I arrive late, will the teacher make up for the time I lost?
No. The instructor is not required to make up for time lost that is beyond their control.
Can a private lesson be held with several people?
Yes, but this is only possible when: a) all of the participants have the same technical level; b) the participants are of the same age group. It is not possible to provide quality and enjoyable lessons to multiple individuals at different ages and/or with various skills levels.
What is the minimum duration of a private lesson?
During high season, all private morning lessons have a fixed duration from 8.30 to 9.55. In the afternoon, the obligatory length varies according to availability with the minimum duration of 55 minutes.
How many students are there in a group course?
Normally, group sizes range from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 12 people.
How are students placed in groups?
Initial placement takes place in the office at the time of registration based on the information that clients provide. After that, on Sunday or Monday morning, instructors will evaluate the skills of each participant on the slope and form groups according to technical level.
How old must a child be to take a ski lesson?
A child must be at least 3 years old at the time of the course. However, we highly recommend parents book these young children in a private lesson or register them for a trial day in a group lesson. This gives the child and parent an opportunity to see if the child is developmentally prepared. Parents should keep in mind that each child develops differently, so some 3-year-olds may not be ready.
How old must a child be to take a snowboard lesson?
Children can enrol in a private snowboard lesson from the age of 5. They can attend group lessons when they are 8 years of age or older.
Can I observe my child's lesson?
Parents may observe their children’s lesson from a distance. We ask that parents do not interfere in the course in any way. Parents should also keep in mind that it is often better for the child to concentrate on skiing as opposed to being distracted by their family members in the immediate vicinity.
Are there discounts if more than one sibling is enrolled in the same type of course?
We offer a 10% discount for 1 person when at least 3 people from the same family enrol in group courses.
Where do children lunch when they are enrolled in the afternoon care or full-time courses?
Beginners have lunch in our VIGILIO CLUB. More advanced children eat at the restaurants on the slopes according to each ski instructor's programme.
Can my child and their friend / relative attend the same group course?
Depends. It is possible to have them ski in the same group ONLY if the children have the same technical level and age. We kindly ask you to let the instructors know at the time of placement if you like to keep your children together.
What happens if not enough students enrol for a group course?
In instances where there are not enough students to create a group course, the amount each client paid for the group course will be credited towards the cost of private lessons.
When are teachers assigned to the group course?
Teachers are assigned to group courses during the Sunday morning placement.
Is there a race at the end of the children’s courses?
Yes, an end-of-course competition takes place every Friday, except for Snuppers and except during the Christmas / New Year period. We have found that these competitions motivate our young guests. The race is a festive time, and most children enjoy it as we emphasize that regardless of the race results, the real victory is in learning and having fun.
Why do adult group courses start at 11:00 on Sunday and Monday?
Our adult group courses begin at 11:00 to allow parents time to accompany their children to youth courses.
What is the Vigilio Club?
The Vigilio Club is a service dedicated to our youngest guests. Once they have finished their ski lessons, they can stay for lunch and play at our facility. This service is purchasable until 14:00 or 16:00. While children do not ski in the afternoon, we offer indoor and outdoor entertainment at the Kinderland school camp.
Do you have a babysitting service?
No. Our school does not offer babysitting services. Our Vigilio Club is exclusively designed for children taking part in group or Snupper courses.
Is it possible to access Kinderland if I don't book lessons?
No. Only children enrolled in private or group lessons can access Kinderland.
When does my child need ski poles?
Children who are complete beginners usually do not use ski poles. In this instance, the teacher will provide further instruction on when the child should start using them.
How long does it take to learn to ski?
Naturally, the number of lessons needed to learn to ski varies according to the student. However, on average, most clients see noticeable improvements after three, 2-hour lessons.
Is it possible to pay in the ski school offices using credit card or debit card?
Yes. You can pay using most credit cards or debit cards. However, we do not accept payments with American Express.
What languages do your teachers speak?
All our teachers speak Ladin, Italian, and German. Some teachers also speak English and French.
Is it mandatory to wear a helmet?
Children up to the age of 18 must wear a helmet. However, we recommend that all customers wear a head protection for their own safety.
Where do I collect the professional photos taken by FotoPlus on the slopes?
The photos taken on the slopes can be viewed and purchased in our office at Strada Catarina Lanz 24, in the central square.
Can I pick up my children immediately after the group course even if I have booked them in the Vigilio Club?
Certainly. However, PLEASE inform us promptly if your children will not be attending lunch.
What if my child gets sick or will not attend the group course?
We strongly ask you to notify us by telephone before the start of the course if your child will not be attending a lesson.
Can I have the teacher's telephone number?
No. For privacy reasons, office staff will not share a teacher’s personal mobile number. Please contact our office which will then forward your message to the teacher.
Where are your offices located?
We have 3 offices: Rosalpina office: Strada Plan de Corones 1. Canester office: Strada Catarina Lanz 24. Pedagà hut: At the bottom of the slope. The Snow Shop rental: Strada Catarina Lanz 14
Where should I take the children who start group lessons?
When you register your child, you will be given a coloured name badge. Children with a yellow and yellow SNUPPER badge will meet at our Kinderland bunny slope next to the office at Strada Plan de Corones 1. More advanced children scheduled for placement will start at Pedagà at the flag corresponding to the colour of the name badge assigned (yellow FULL TIME, green, blue, or red).
What should I do with the course voucher?
Take your voucher with you to your lesson. The voucher must be given to the teachers at the beginning of the lesson. Your voucher is proof of registration and is necessary to access both private and group lessons. The voucher indicates: type of lessons booked, lesson schedule, meeting point and, for private lessons, the name of the instructor.
What happens if I lose my voucher / name badge?
You can stop by the office to get a copy of your voucher / a new badge.
Can I keep the bib the teachers gave my child?
No. The instructors provide each child with a bib at the beginning of the group courses. However, the bibs MUST be returned to the teachers at the end of the week.
